SARVGYAN is a dream which I saw since 2006 when I choose librarianship as a carrier. At that time I am new with Computer & Internet so I talked to my students about my dream SARVGYAN “I wish to make a website where all the Electronic-Resources are available which are available freely on the Internet”. I am encouraging them for preparing a website as a project work. They appreciate me for this but no work is done in this field.
Next year my students left the college after completing there Engineering degree and I am engaging in research work. Certainly I left the job and join Jaipur National University, Jaipur. Here I saw a huge collection of CD-ROMs. I took a chance again and collect all the CD-ROMS. Here the students are conducting there research in M. Pharmacy Engineering, Education, Management and so on, and they need lots of reading materials for their study. I found that they don’t know about E-journals and how they access. I am trying to put lots of E-journals for their studies also encourage how they access. But I am not satisfied with this work.
I am doing my research on “A Study of Use vis a vis Promotional strategies of E-resources in the libraries of Rajasthan”. And in my research work there are two points covered first one “Use of E-resources” and second one “Promotion of E-resources in the libraries”
With the SARVGYAN I assemble National and International E-resources which are freely available on the Internet. Resources including in SARVGYAN are E-Journals, E-Thesis, E-Newspapers, E-Magazines and E-Books with different streams. In this there are so many direct links are available for Current affairs, Current General Knowledge, About India, Digital Libraries in India. These information sources are directly linked with SARVGYAN, users need to find out the name and access the E-recourse. I am trying to increase my list up to 1000+ E-resources. These resources are Eco-friendly.
There are "Five Laws" of Library & Information science of which the 4th one is "Save time of users" And my aim is – “Promoting free access to E- Resources”. Through SARVGYAN I am trying to make available all kind of E-knowledgeable resources and promoting free access of E-resources to all kind of users
